chip in for the vet bills and other shelter stuff

Just think, if everyone of my 540 friends chipped in a dollar and everyone of your friends chipped in a dollar, etc...we'd get that vet bill paid off quick, and then have more to help the currently sick animals in the shelter with. It would really be very easy.

While volunteering, I saw several dogs there yesterday who look like they need vet care. They skin infections, a rash, other things that need to be vet checked. Then, they all need to be spayed and neutered. A good many of them are probably heart worm positive and need to get on some heartguard. I bet some of the puppies, or most have worms. It just so sad. And those puppies, oh my! They just want to be held and held and cuddled. I was drawn to more than one.

And that's a whole other problem. They are understaffed. They need volunteer help. I mean I didn't see anyone just sitting around. They were all very busy either taking in new animals, helping ppl who wanted to adopt, bathing dogs, running them in the outside yard for exercise, then cleaning out the kennels, putting in food and water, and the list goes on and on. I know we as volunteers can make a difference. I just wish it didn't take so long.

chip in for the vet bills

We need so much help, sometimes it feels...

It feels overwhelming. The poor, sweet cats and dogs of the local high kill shelter need our intervention so badly. It is an ongoing thing. It never sleeps or ends. It makes me so angry and sad to live in an area where so many animals are abused and neglected. Ever since I was a little girl, I have rescued 4 legged creatures. Nothing is dearer to my heart. Fortunately my husband married me knowing this and doesn't complain (too much). LOL We have become a team. I love him for it. This is my first post and I wanted to get it up and running. I have some things to do, but will blog more later. Come join me. Together we can get a lot more done than alone. :-)
